Qur'an Commentary
Preface
In this section of Rational Islam,
we will discuss some authentic commentaries of the Qur’an
such as Tafsir Ibn’e Kasir, Tafheem ul Qur’an, etc. Also, we will share some personal
commentaries to ponder upon amazing verses of the Holy Qur’an and
discuss the miracles hidden in them.
InshaAllah!
La Ilaha IlAllah
La Ilaha Il’Allah is the only statement that unites all the Monotheistic Religions under one faith. This sacred phrase is a part of the basic Muslim statement of faith, it is a part of the call to prayer that echoes across the countryside five times a day throughout the Muslim world. ‘There is no God but Allah’ لا إله إلا الله. This statement is the basis of Islamic Religion. If a person wants to be Muslim, he has to say this phrase confirming with his heart, adding ‘Muhammad SAW is the prophet of Allah’ محمد رسول الله. This statement has been mentioned many times in Qur’an (3:18 37:35 47:19) which makes it a direct revelation from Allah SWT. In many authentic hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW, he mentioned this holy phrase to be read many times as wird, and also He SAW mentioned many benefits of it.
Translation: ‘There is no God but Allah’ لا إله إلا الله.
This statement is the basis of our Islamic Religion. The four individual words in the phrase lā ilāha illā allāh, have the following meanings:
lā = no, not, none, neither
ilāha = an object of worship, adoration or service, a god or deity
illā = but, except (illā is a contraction of in-lā, literally if not)
allāh = allāh
Miracle: As many of the Qur’anic verses and phrases has miracles in them, this holy phrase also has an amazing miracle that shocks everyone, and again confirms that the Qur’an is a word from Allah almighty.
La Ilaha Il’Allah, while reciting this phrase, if you notice we don’t have to move our lips and this phrase requires less effort in uttering as compared to any other statement or phrase in the world, and Subhan Allah, every Muslim wish to call this phrase while dying, as Muhammad SAW said ‘A dying person who can hardly speak may be assisted by someone to frequently say, “La Ilaha Il’Allah” there is no god but Allah (God)’. Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) reminds us, ‘He whose last words are: La Ilaha Il’Allah, enters Paradise.’ This method is called ‘Talqeen’.
Now if a person is dying of any swear disease, in which he can not move his body (such as Foliage), even such a person can easily recite this phrase.
SubhanAllah!
Alhamdulillah e' Rabbul Alameen
According to modern scientists, there is a new concept of the multiverse, and this concept tells us that all the observable things the seen and the unseen the discoveries made till date in space and all the theories that are still unreal, everything is in just one universe, but there are many more universes like ours, maybe millions and millions of them are out there, Allah knows best!
Now if we open Quran and read the 2nd verse of 1st surah (Surah al Fatiha), it says:
“All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds/multiverse”
Qur’an 1:2
The word universe/world in Arabic is “عالم ”, you can check that on
Google and here’s the link to it: World/Universe and in the above mentioned Arabic verse, Allah has used the plural version of universe – multiverse/worlds “اَلْعَالَمِينََ ”. This word cannot be translated to any other word except this worlds or multiverse, the word heavens are translated in Arabic as “السماوات ” as Allah mentioned this word “السماوات ” many times in Qur’an for English word skies or heavens. An early example of this can be seen in the work of the Islamic theologian Fakhr al-Din al-Razi (1149–1209), in dealing with his conception of physics and the physical world in his Matalib. He discusses Islamic cosmology, criticizes the idea of the Earth’s centrality within the universe, and explores “the notion of the existence of a multiverse in the context of his commentary” on the Qur’anic verse, “All praise belongs to God, Lord of the Worlds.” He raises the question of whether the term “worlds” in this verse refers to “multiple worlds within this single universe or cosmos, or too many other universes or a multiverse beyond this known universe.” He rejects the Aristotelian view of a single world or universe in favour of the existence of multiple worlds and universes, a view that he believed to be supported by the Qur’an and by the Ash’ari theory of atomism.
SubhanAllah!
In Islamic theology, the cosmos includes both the Unseen Universe (Arabic: عالم الغيب, Alam-al-Ghaib) and the Observable Universe (Arabic: عالم الشهود, Alam-al-Shahood). Nevertheless, both belong to the created universe. Islamic dualism does not constitute between spirit and matter, but between Creator (Allah SWT) and creation. The latter including both the seen and unseen. So this concept of the multiverse that is still a theory for modern scientist, it is mentioned in the Qur’an 1400 years ago.
Seal of Prophets
Explanation: All Messengers are Prophets, but all Prophets are not Messengers. A Messenger is a Prophet who receives a book of revelation from Allah which confirms the previous book of revelation and prophets but has some amendments in it. Who is Allah
All the praise is to Allah, other than Hm there is no deity, and He is above everything that the unbelievers associate with Him. He is the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith & Peace. Exalted is Allah from everything that we see. He is superior in Might, He is ever-living, self-subsisting, the most-high, and Greatest of all what we know and what we can imagine and to Him belongs the best names.
All the praise is to Allah, who is the King of all who claim sovereignty and kingship. He alone is the owner of the great Throne encompassing and extended to the 7 heavens, and He is the only one who has the right to legislate for his creation. He is the giver of life, He is the causer of death, while death does not affect Him because he is the eternal and the only absolute. He has the creator and has the power to recreate anything, He created every living thing with water.
All the praise is to Allah, who is forbearing and ever forgiving in all matters of his creation. He is all-knowing, also no one has the power to change his will in any matter whatsoever. He is Allah who sent all his Messengers AS with a common message of strict Monotheism, which legislates and literally means that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah without any partner.
All the praise is to Allah, who is the author of everything, neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor does He sleep. Every slight change in the universe is dependent on his command. Nothing can cause benefit or detriment to anyone except He permits it. No one can ever provide sustenance, honour or disgrace except Him, because he is the sole provider of everything. Everything belongs to him, whether it is in the heavens or on the earth, He is the most honoured and the most respectful of all.
All the praise is to Allah, who is Pure and the only provider of purity. He is the sole provider of safety and security from everything that can cause harm or damage to anyone, and in reality, no one has the power to cause detriment to anyone, except He wills. He is the sole preserver of everything that is in the heavens and the earth, and this preservation does not tire Him. He is our owner, guardian, nurturer, and best friend. He helps us, sustains us when we are in the hour of need, and gives us better thing in place of what He takes back because He has the knowledge of everything and alone He knows what is best for us. He is the fashioner, the inventor, the designer of anything and everything, seen and the unseen, open and hidden from us.
All the praise is to Allah, who is ever forgiving, He always accepts the repentance of His creation and answers whenever and by whoever called. HE is the absolute problem solver in every situation, and there is no one except him because He is all-knowing. He knows everything, whether we show it or conceal it. Whatever knowledge we have is given by Allah and nobody can have any knowledge of anything except for what he permits.
All the praise is to Allah, who is the Light of everything, the Guider of the straight path and the Bestower of Faith. He is the one who set seals on the hearts of those who disbelieve. When there nobody to help, He is the only one who helps us. He alone is the Sovereign of the day of resurrection, the heavens and the hell. He neither begets nor is born, He is different from everything that we can imagine.
Key to Sucess
calamity, Allah shows him a way out of it by truly guiding him, apart from that He SWT shower his blessings and mercy upon that person. But the question is, why does Allah like such a person? the answer is in the dua itself. “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will return” by saying this, we put all of our trust in Allah and hand over all our matter to Him. As truly Allah knows everything, He has the knowledge of the seen and the unseen, so He knows what is good and what is bad for us. If He took back something that He gifted us, first of all, that thing belongs to Allah, He is the owner of it, and He gave it to us for a limited time, so he can take it back whenever He likes. Secondly, He will surely gift us something better than what He took away. Thirdly, that thing might not be better for us, so he did this to save us.
We human beings have a very limited span of thinking, we always try to jump to the conclusion of everything. On the other hand, our Creator thinks the way we can not imagine, and He knows everything. This is why we should always trust in Allah and accept all His decisions without arguing. And when we do this, Allah showers His Blessings and Mercy upon us and Guides us on the right path.
Honey Bees in Qur'an
Explanation:
SubhanAllah! How precisely Allah mentioned this fact in Qur’an 1400 years ago to Muhammad SAW who did not have the knowledge of such detail before Allah revealed this in the Qur’an, also at that time the technology was not advanced that this fact could be discovered.
Vortex Movement
According to my estimation, this is the most profound miracle of the Qur’an mentioned by Allah 1400 years ago. Truly Allah has shown many signs for the people of intellect, if any person ponders upon Qur’anic verses, there is no way his heart will reject these signs.
Sects in Islam
Muhammad SAW taught us ONE religion of ONE Allah from ONE book of revelation Qur’an and instructed us to stick to the ONE path of Allah, as Allah said in Qur’an 3:103 “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided”. The rope of Allah in this ayah is ONE, which is the holy book of the Qur’an and the teaching of Muhammad SAW. This is the religion of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Isa, Muhammad and all the other prophets. All of the prophets came with the same religion of Islam and called themselves Muslim, and we should do the same. Allah speaks about this in Qur’an 41:33 “And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, “Indeed, I am of the Muslims.”
Conclusion: We should always call people to the One path of Allah instead of dividing them into different sects, as Islam does not have any sect and Allah hate those who divide people. This is the act of righteousness.
Locusts in Qur'an
Allah said in Qur’an 54:07-08 “Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, rushing towards the caller. The disbelievers will say, “This is a difficult Day.”

Miracles of Kaaba
1. In the beginning of Islamic history, many companions of
2. In Qur’an 2:115 Allah mentioned “And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face1 of Allah.” This clearly explains that Kaaba is just the direction for worshipping Allah, if anyone is not able to find the exact location of Kaaba for salah, he or she can face any direction, as every place belongs to Allah SWT.
Keeping all of the above-mentioned points in mind, the Holy Kaaba is a miraculous place and facing its direction for worshipping Allah contain many scientific and rational facts.
If we look to the creation of Allah SWT, from the tiny world of Quantum (atoms, molecules, tiny particles etc) to the Huge Celestial Bodies that float in the space above us (planets, stars, galaxies etc) they are all rotating and circumambulating around a certain axis in the same counter-clockwise direction. This is the same way Muslims are circumambulating around the Holy Kaaba which is an act of worship for Muslims. It means that in nature, every creation is worshipping Allah SWT and this fact is also mentioned in Quran 22:18 “Do you not see [i.e., know] that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people?”
Besides the logical fact, there is are scientific reasoning about Kaaba. Allah has created everything with a precise calculation of the ‘Golden Ratio’ also known as the ‘Divine Proportion’ (denoted as Phi Φ). To understand and learn this fact, see this video by clicking here. If we apply this ratio on earth, we will find out that the golden point of earth/globe is the city of Mecca (distance from Mecca to the South Pole = 12,348.32 Km, distance from Mecca to the North Pole = 7,631.68, by dividing these values: 12,348.32/7,631.68=1.618 that is the Golden ratio), whereas the golden point of Mecca is the Holy Kaaba. Because it is the golden point of the globe, it has the strongest energetic field on the earth, same the galaxies, and plants which emits the energy from the centre point to the outer edges. Like a nucleus of an atom that balances the energy system with the electrons that revolve around it.
Dr Andrew Newberg examined the brain during Islamic prayer (salah) and found out that this practice decreased blood flow to areas of the brain controlling willful behaviour and movement, as well as the sense of self. He further said: “Our study showed that Islamic prayer practices have powerful effects on the brain,” study this report by clicking here. When we put our forehead (that contains the frontal lobe of the Brain) on the ground during prostration the brain emits negative electromagnetic charges (same as the electrons, planets and stars emit) that are harmful to us and can cause headache, depression, mental illness and other serious problems. Prayer is the perfect form of meditation that modern science now accepts.
Miracles of Qur'an
Basic Information:
Prophet Muhammad SAW indicated the arrangement of the Quran in verses and chapters through Divine guidance and there are hundreds of miracles in its arrangement only and this thing guarantees that everything was guided by Allah. Quran was compiled in one volume during the time of first Khalifa Abu-Bakr RA, and during the time of third Khalifa ‘Uthman RA, the very first version of the Holy Quran in form of standard text was issued.
Quran is divided into 7 Manzil that are subdivided into 30 parts/siparay, with 114 chapters (surah’s) 86 makki and 28 madni, 540 rukus, approximately 6666 ayahs made of approximately 323760 words in total to be exact.
Miracles of Quran:
The Holy Qur’an is a Divine Speech of Allah SWT, and now we have many proofs to defend this reality. There are 10s of 100s of miracles in a single surah, even the arrangement of surahs and verses show that such perfect speech cannot come from a normal human being. Quran is the only book out of all the books ever revealed/written/published (religious or non-religious) to date, that has been memorized word by word, cover to cover by thousands of people all around the world. It is also the only book that is recited every day every time all over the world by millions of Muslims. There are hundreds of miracles of the Quran that existed from the day it was revealed, and an ordinary human being is not capable of providing such information that is mentioned in Quran.
Below are some links to the proofs that confirm the Quran is a word of Allah SWT:
